Sluggish Day For Stocks

Technology tip toed higher

Happy Tuesday.

It was another sluggish day for stocks.

Every major index closed negative. The small-cap Russell 2000 stumbled -1%.

Energy surged +1.45%. Technology tip toed higher. $XLK gained +0.08% in the red tape.

Consumer discretionary dipped -0.75%.

Healthcare, communications, industrials and utilities tumbled > -1%.

Real estate sank -1.93%.

Semis finished flat. Aerospace and defense dropped nearly -4%.

Quantum cooled. And autonomous driving stalled -0.74%.

Nuclear unplugged -4.60%.

Drones dipped -0.84%.

In case you missed it, I shared a primer on Ondas earlier this morning. It's the most interesting growth story I've ever seen. And the stock looks ready to rock.

Here's a line chart featuring the anchored VWAP at its 1/8/2026 all-time high. A break above the orange line signals buyers are in control since its all-time high close.

It has failed at this mark in the past, but I like our odds this time around. Third time's a charm ;)

Tomorrow after the close, we'll receive earnings from Tesla, GE Vernova, Texas Instruments, Boeing, TE Connectivity, Teledyne Technologies and many others.

Here’s the daily S&P 500 heat map.
